Fidaa Movie Review: It’s A Pure, Realistic Love Story
Every director has their own style of working, and they leave a distinct mark in the heads and hearts of their viewers. When we think of Shekhar Kammula, we usually think of complicated movies made in a stylish way. He is known to make films that are light-hearted, have high emotions and values. And his latest flick, Fidaa, which hit the screens today, is no less.
Starring Varun Tej as Varun and debutant Sai Pallavi as Bhanumathi, the film speaks about the love-hate relationship between the two. Falling in love, breaking up and then reuniting for their happily ever after.
Varun is an NRI who lives with his brothers in the US. He flies down to India for his older brother’s wedding with Renuka, who is Bhanumathi’s sister, who lives in a small village in Telangana.
During his stay, Bhanumathi and he become close, and the chirpy girl falls head over heels for him. And just when she thinks of confessing her love, Varun’s girlfriend flies down and she comes to know that he was going to marry the girlfriend back in America. While there is confusion in her mind about what to do and what not to, Bhanumathi promises her father she wouldn’t leave him even after her marriage.
What happens to her love? What happens to Varun’s girlfriend and their marriage plans? And what about the promise Bhanumathi made to her father? These questions form the crux of this breezy love story.
As an NRI, Varun looks superb and his body-language is on point, making him fit in the role just perfectly. On the other hand, Pallavi is full of energy, she’s chirpy and a delight to watch. Harshvardhan Rane has a special role in the film and is good to his role’s extent. And, Satya Ramesh, who has a role in the second half entertains with his brilliant comic timing.
Overall, the story is simple yet beautiful and is well-written. There are moments that will fill your heart with emotions and some scenes will just leave you in splits. Some dialogues, too, are very well written and delivered.
The movie is a must watch!
