While the world is eagerly waiting for the release of Thalaivaa Rajinikanth’s next flick 2.0, which is set to hit the silver screens in January next year, we have some exciting news that is sure to add up to the excitement.
Reports suggest Amy Jackson, who bagged the lead role opposite the Southern superstar, will be shooting along with him the costliest song ever to be made. It will be made over a span of 12 days. Woah!
This tidbit was shared by trade analyst Ramesh Bala, who took to Twitter to write, “@superstarrajini and @iamAmyJackson will be shooting for a peppy dance track for #2Point0 – 1 of the costliest songs with 12 days of shoot (sic)”
An entertainment website further quoted Jackson saying, “We have completed the shoot for 2.0. Only a song is left. Rajini and I are going to shoot for a 12-day song schedule next month. We are not traveling for the song, it will be indoors. There will be a huge set erected for the same, much like Shankar’s style. AR Rahman is composing the song which will have a lot of dancing and romance. It has a bit of both, but it’s going to be a dance track.”
Reports further add that Zee TV Network has already purchased the satellite rights of the mega film’s Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions, which is touted to be for Rs 110 crores. The Hindi version of 2.0 has been bought by AA Films for about Rs 80 crores.
The film also stars Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, and it will be his debut Tamil film.
2.0 is a sequel to Enthiran, which released in 2010. It is being directed by S Shankar.
